In this page, I will discuss different theme across pages and add to my own reflections about media.

Media Reflection

In my own website, I realized that in my media hierarchy, I did not consider written media. I think I always associate media with this concept of what I consume digitally; however, as we've seen in this class, that is not always the case. I would definitely adjust that in my page. I also learned a lot about what people consider media issues, such as a loss content, unknown standards, propaganda, etc. Overall, I was really interested in reading everyone's pages and see where their interests lie.

Theme 1:

Many students are taking this class because they are very interested in the way that media has the power to alter society and it's ability to impact others. I noted this in most students' websites, but particularly Uma's, Nikki's, and Arnav's pages.

Theme 2

I noticed that one of the most common media consumption methods across all the students is through social media. Sites like Instagram and TikTok have a very significant impact on others. Some examples of this can be seen through Kirthi's, Kim's, and Lasya's websites.

Theme 3

I noticed that many students seemed to be concerned with the lack of accessibility in media, which I fully agree with. When you consider how relevant accessibility is in society, this is a valid concern. Harshitha does a great job of explaining this in more detail!
